From the Field – India

Our Dear Friends,

It is our privilege to share with you each experience in our life of joy or sorrow; of difficulty or success; of hardship or ease; and of danger or safety.

We are very thankful to the Lord Jesus Christ for those who have partnered with us who stand with us always and with our ministry in prayer and support.

We started the new school year at Jagat-Jyoti (Light of the World) with 130 students (all are non-Christian) on our roll. We provide them with text books, exercise note books and free nutritious food four times a month.

Most of our students are poor coming from surrounding villages. Students coming from a distance are provided with transportation. They come every morning in two tempos (three wheeler motorized rickshaws) and return home in tempo after school.

There are many distractions in a village school that keep children from attending school regularly. Some of the students have to supplement their family income by working during agricultural season and festival.

We have four classes- standards I to IV (grades 1 through 4. We work from Monday to Saturday. We are closed on Sundays. School starts with Christian prayer at 9:00 a.m. and classes end at noon. We have a total of 4 teachers.

We started a new school, Jeevan-Jyoti (Light of Life), this new academic year 2007-08. Located near a large city, the new school has 60 students in pre-nursery to standard II.

Church Planting

Twice a month we go to the villages to have worship with children and adults. A pastor and two village evangelical workers go every week to minister to the village churches. As you all know that evangelical work is strictly banned in our state (MADHYA PRADESH ) by our state government.

New wall : New compound wall built in Jagat- Jyoti School to prevent rain water from flooding in.

Bore well : We went up to 350 feet deep; no sign of water. Even at that depth the soil was very dry. The villagers were making fun of us. The bore well digger was discouraging in his report. We kept crying unto the Lord. At the same time you all also joined us. When we hit 356 feet, there was a mighty splash of water to a height of 10 feet. We all shouted for joy and kept praising the Lord! If this not a miracle, we don’t know what a miracle is! To note that our Lord listens to prayers of sinners like us. What a mighty God we have! Praise Him!

Ritesh (School Student)

As many of you know, one of our students, Ritesh, fell down and had to be an in- patient in hospital. He had to be in ICU for four days, before he was transferred to the general ward. We were all on our knees in prayer and you also joined us in fervent prayers. Praise the Lord, Ritesh recovered. It was a real faith-stretching experience for every one.

We praise God for you, your involvement in our ministry and for your prayers and financial support. God bless you and yours most abundantly.

A Blessed Christmas,
Khushy, Ranu & Kamlesh
