To Africa With Love Update

Dear Friends and Partners in this great work,

What a joy and a privileged to communicate to you again through this letter. I bring greetings from my wife Mercy, Don Jr. our son and the 13 Children that God has pressed in our hands for care. We love you and thank you so much for being part of our lives and ministry.

“The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek Him. Sing the praises of the LORD, enthroned in Zion….” (Psalms 9: 9-11)

These words have been our daily food to heal, strengthen and bring hope to our ministry in the last 3 months why have been characterized with a lot of challenges.

Praise

The Lord has been faithful in stretching his mighty hand to our ministry. As you all know we have experienced a long drought that has caused scarcity of food, schools closing before time and families going without a meal for some days. THROUGH IT ALL WE HAVE LEARNED TO TRUST THE LORD. None of our Children throughout the Clubs and Kerith Children’s Home was affected. Finally since last week the Lord has given us rain, people have been have able to plant some food and praying that is will continue so we don’t lack food.

Current Challenges

The drought has affected many families. So many children continue to have their lives move to a death point. Our ministry has been able to provide food to many families and children who are going without a meal for days.

Kerith Children’s Home (KCH)

The challenging thing in life is to raise children not knowing what they will be in the future; the Joy of KCH is that the Lord has a plan for every Child in life. We are blessed to raise this great Army of God and future generation. They each continue to love one another and are learning that God knows them. When the rains began one child came to me and said can I have a blanket since its cold, for sure I did not have. Thank God for Harvesters International Ministries that God used in the right time and I was able to buy blankets for all of them and enough food.

Evangelism and Church Planting:

Act 9:17 “….the Lord who appeared to you on the road as you where coming here-has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Eighteen years ago such words ran in my heart but little did I know what the Lord was saying to me. I have seen, have experienced what the Lord can do through you if you obey His calling.

Since we shifted to our new permanent home, we have experienced a rapid growth in our Church. God provided that now we have a Baptistery constructed next to the Pulpit and on Good Friday we shall Baptize 38 people. Next is my wife Mercy preaching on Women’s Sunday. Between Feb and 17th April. We have registered 59 Souls coming to the saving grace.

I want to thank you all that have become part of this great harvest in Pallisa. The leaders of River of God Church have started praying for another new preaching point in a remote place where there is no Church and we are trusting God to lead us there some time this year.

Our Prayer Needs

1. Pray with us that as the Lord expands His work here in Pallisa we don’t take in pride but give the glory to Jesus.

2. We need another classroom for our pre-school since the number is growing and it will cost us $1600 dollars.

3. Pray for our Children’s Home that God will provide for their needs.

4. Pray for the long drought that as caused high price of commodities here in Uganda.

5. Please lift me and my wife Mercy that God will continue to use both of us the way He wants.

6. We love you all and know that we pray for you dearly. We also value your financial and any ministry support you give to through HIM.

Finally the door is wide open, we welcome you to Pallisa to see for yourself what the Lord is doing.
