Meet the Zimin family from Russia! Alexander and Anna are house parents with Hope for Life Homes. They have five biological children and also care for four orphans – all in a 700 square foot apartment! Though they face many challenges, they are grateful for those trials because at the end many blessings abound.
The children in their care come from homes that were filled with alcohol abuse and neglect. They were all severely malnourished and developmentally delayed. After spending the last five years with the Zimins, all of the children are thriving and have made significant strides their development. They now enjoy going to school and taking gymnastics classes. Most importantly, they are shown the love of Jesus every day and understand what it means to be loved and cared for by a parent.
Over the summer, the family volunteered in a Christian camp. Alexander was the speaker for camp sessions, while Anna was a mentor for a group of girls. They saw God working each day in the hearts of the campers, with many coming to a relationship with Christ. The family is already looking forward to volunteering again next year!
Alexander is also the pastor of Spassk Bible Church. We are currently remodeling the upstairs section of the church so that the family can live there. Thus far, we have raised $25,000 of the $40,000 needed for the renovations. If you’d like to help with this project, please visit our website at www.harvesters.net and click donate.
