CYSC Update Spring 2011

Greetings,

I have just returned from a trip to Eluru. Esther (mom) is doing well and sends her greetings.

By his grace, all of CYSC’s activities have been continuing by all your prayers, support and help.

The center at Eluru is continuing the spiritual outreach activities CYSC’s library facility is one of its kind in our area. I got a chance to meet with a young pastor (CYSC sponsored his pastoral training) who comes regularly to use our facility – he was invited to speak on a lent season topic where he was appreciated by all at a church, so he was invited to speak again on another topic too – he gives all credit to CYSC’s library where he gets all his material!

We conduct weekly senior bible studies, Friday fasting prayers, monthly village outreach teams distribute tracts and stop along to preach a Gospel message with songs and sometimes show a film too. We also conduct a monthly children’s program, usually in a rural area, to teach the kids some songs, have a puppet show, give a message and also some snacks. We also teach tailoring and music at the center. Pray that the Lord will bless our outreach work and touch the hearts of children and folks we come across for the extension of His kingdom.

We are blessed to have been able to run the soup-kitchen at the widows’ home for about 6 years now, 6 days a week, preparing about 60 meals a day (30 lunches & 30 dinners daily). CYSC and the widows at the home are blessed by your love and support. It is blessing to be able to take care of their basic needs of food and medicine. They get to hear the Word every day and also pray for each other’s needs. We are on the lookout for some suitable agricultural land to set up a permanent facility for the senior widows as they have expressed their confidence in CYSC by asking us to set up a facility for them to stay fulltime!

We visit the Bethesda rural clinic once a week. Usually around 35 to 40 patients with minor ailments turn up. After check-up they are given medicines, all free of cost. We are praying for a fulltime doctor there. We are also praying for the urgent repair of the building walls as they have developed extensive cracks due to sinking of the soil after the village was flooded a couple of years back.

I am encouraged by Proverbs 19:17, 22:9, & 28:27 and believe that all of us who are involved in our missions work are sowing in the right place and are headed in the right direction. I praise God for this. Each time I have been at cross roads, I allowed our Lord to show me the way, which pointed towards missions work in India – he has opened and closed doors (especially in my life) according to His plan and purpose for us to continue the ministry work. All praise and glory belong to Him !!

We at CYSC Eluru, are immensely blessed by all of you. Appreciate all that you are doing for us. We are praying for you. May the Lord bless all of you according to His promises.

With prayers,
Edwin.
