Do you sometimes look at the young people and ask yourself, “Where are they coming from? Where do they get these crazy ideas?” Chances are someone thought that about you when you were a young person also. It seems each generation develops their own standards, trends and beliefs, but it doesn’t have to be that way. If we follow the scriptures we can make a difference in the lives of young people. If we don’t like what we see, what are we doing about it?
Our partner in Myanmar is doing a lot. Every Sunday evening they are having Youth Fellowship where the young people are learning about the Word, spending time in worship and encouraging other youth to come join in the fellowship. In a country that is closed to outsiders sharing the Gospel, this is one of the most important methods of growing the next generation of believers. The hope is that some of these young people will have the desire to go onto Bible School and have the desire to serve the Christian community. They are getting clear training and testimony from Brother Amos, who has gone through the same experience of coming to the Lord, struggling to serve and finally being blessed with a Bible School Education.
Harvesters is glad to be a part of this vital ministry and to share in supporting Brother Amos’ education. If you have the heart to support a young person in Bible School this would be a great encouragement to the staff and students.
