You may remember that we had informed you of an upcoming big event in the life of our Myanmar ministry. This event was a dual celebration of the one year anniversary of the Bible School and the ten year anniversary of the ministry. The events took place in May, and it was a special time, especially for two women from one of our local churches.
The two women were on a five week journey visiting four countries and five ministry partners, two of whom are partners of Harvesters. After visiting Indonesia and Thailand, the ladies arrived in Myanmar, fully expecting to meet up with our director Ed Hirshman. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Ed did not arrive, but the ladies were well taken care of by “Pastor Benjamin” and were able to partake in all the festivities and share with the students at the Bible School.
The following is an excerpt from the trip overview prepared by one of the ladies:
“We observed/heard a man who is filled with the joy of the Lord, a strong visionary, good business sense, provides accountability to his national workers, moving toward self-sustaining for ministry with pig farm and rice paddy; a strong marriage and family, and easily engages with all ages—a man of courage, who needs others to partner with him to see God move ahead His Kingdom in this rapidly changing country. We also observed strong leadership gifts, a strong CPM ministry of multiplication, vision and heart for the abandoned children (6 orphanages), a scholarship work-program for Bible School students.”
This is a strong testimony that has kept a fledgling ministry growing for the past 10 years, and the vision that we pray will keep it moving forward for the next 10. We are thankful to be able to partner with Pastor Benjamin and the work the Lord has called him to among the Buddhists in Myanmar.
